Developing a Naloxone Program

A variety of resources, information, and supports are available to assist practitioners with developing a naloxone program in their communities as well as other evidence-based strategies for addressing the impact of substance use disorder. We strongly recommend that justice practitioners research learning opportunities available through the local and state governments. Other trainings are available through local hospitals, medical providers, public health agencies, community coalitions, and nonprofits. Training and technical assistance on developing naloxone programs, properly administering naloxone, and other evidence-based harm reduction strategies is an excellent opportunity to promote collaboration among community partners.
