Making Data-Driven Decisions to Enhance your Diversion or Deflection Program
This webinar will highlight how administrators of law enforcement-led and first responder diversion programs can apply evaluation recommendations to adjust program implementation for improved outcomes.
Data are critical to understanding the individual- and community-level impacts of law enforcement-led and first responder diversion programs over time. Data collection efforts should focus on measures that can be used to track program performance, especially across goals such as improved outcomes for individuals, police agencies, treatment providers, and the community. However, program evaluations are valuable only if program administrators utilize the findings to make adjustments to program implementation.
Speakers from two police-led diversion programs, Hero Help in New Castle County, Delaware, and the Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) program in Longmont, Colorado, will briefly discuss evaluations of their programs and key actions they took based on the recommendations of those evaluations. The moderator will then facilitate a roundtable discussion in which webinar attendees are encouraged to participate.
(Note: To allow enough time for discussion during the roundtable portion of the webinar, please read about Hero Help and Longmont’s LEAD program prior to attending the event. Information about both programs is provided through the following links.)
