This course introduces learners to the science of substance use disorder (SUD); evidence-based practices needed in the prevention, identification, and treatment of SUD and co-occurring psychiatric disorders for individuals involved with the justice system; cultural considerations; and the role of trauma and SUD as threats to reducing recidivism.
