2024 National Drug Control Strategy

The 2024 National Drug Control Strategy is aimed at addressing the overdose crisis from multiple angles. This includes preventing youth substance use, expanding access to life-saving medications like naloxone, expanding access to evidence-based treatment, building a recovery-ready nation, and ramping up efforts to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking.

The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) is statutorily required to consult with and solicit input for the Strategy from a variety of parties affected by federal drug policy, including federal agencies and departments charged with carrying out these policies; members of Congress and congressional committees; states, local, tribal, and territorial governments; nongovernmental organizations and community activists; and foreign governments, among others.
